Boards Call for Behavioral Covenant at Annual Meeting

The Nov. 1 - 2 Annual Meeting of the three Southern New England conferences will have a new and different feel from prior meetings, with a new focus on lifting up nuanced perspectives during plenary, and on hearing vision-inspired local church stories during break-out sessions.

The four Boards of Directors have each voted to recommend that delegates adopt a common Behavioral Covenant and new Rules of Procedure, to guide all plenary sessions at the meeting

Joseph Clemmons Program Moves in New Direction

MACUCC Staff Calls for Voices Against Weymouth Compressor Station

Several members of the Massachusetts Conference staff have written a letter to Gov. Charlie Baker asking him to reverse his support for the Enbridge natural gas compressor station in Weymouth, and they are inviting local church members to sign on.

UCC forgives millions in debt in Chicago, announces national effort

Nearly 6,000 families on the South Side of Chicago have had their medical debt forgiven through a collaborative effort of local, Conference and national bodies of the United Church of Christ and other partners. UCC leaders announced Oct. 20 that church donations have wiped out $5.3 million in medical debt for 5,888 Chicago families. They invited participation in a similar national effort being planned for Giving Tuesday on Dec. 3.
