Many Voices, One Mission: Sequined and Ready To Serve

By Emily McKenna, Office Manager for the CT Conference, UCC

There is always someone waiting for you to do something.  Whether a family member is holding out for you to finish that chore they despise doing themselves, or your accountant is waiting for you to submit those last tax papers, there is someone out there waiting for you to make a move and get it done.

It’s easy for me to feel like I’m leaving people waiting with what I do at work.  I’m fortunate to be woven into each department, providing support for the office in various ways. If I am updating a registration page for our faith formation team, I’m not working on updating the calendar for the building.  If I am inputting data for our financial team, I am not accounting for the inventory of supplies we need.  I truly enjoy wearing many hats, so much so that my ministry with youth is my second job away from the buzz of my full-time job at the office.  At times, I struggle with which hat to put on when.  Occasionally, I let people down who are waiting for me to finish something.
