Weird Church Revisited

Hancock United Church of Christ, Congregational
1912 Massachusetts Avenue
Lexington, MA 02421
Tuesday, December 4th 7:00PM - 9:00PM

There are new forms of spiritual communities emerging all around us.  The Spirit is birthing something in our midst.  Rev. Don Remick, Transitional Interim Conference Minister, has offered a glimpse into these exciting and intriguing ministries captured in the book Weird Church as well as through the research of others.  At the recent combined fall Association meeting of the North East Association and Metropolitan Boston Association, Don presented this material again.  There were several requests to offer this another time during the season of Advent as we wait for the birthing of Christ among us.  Building on a Super Saturday ‘Eat n’ Learn’ opportunity, Don has updated the material and will offer a presentation on December 4th.

Blue Christmas
Hadwen Park Congregational Church, UCC
6 Clover Street
Worcester, MA  01603
Thursday, December 6th at 7:00PM

For many this is not a "holyday" season, but a "hollowday" experience. The "Ho, Ho, Ho's" of mall Santa's bring pain, not joy. To bring a word of peace, Hadwen Park will be holding a "Blue Christmas Service". Music, scripture, lighting of candles, breaking of bread and anointing with oil will bring a sense of the presence of the "bread of life" who was in the "house of bread". All are welcome and are invited to bring a candle to light in memory of a loved one or situation.
