Journey; a social and support group for people of all ages who identify as trans, gender queer, or two spirit will meet on the third Thursday of the month, 6-7:30 PM; Sept. 21st, Oct. 19th, Nov. 16th, and Dec. 21, 2017 at the Unitarian Society of Northampton and Florence(USNF) 220 Main St.,Northampton, MA 01060. Allies, significant others, family, and friends are welcome too. Use the side entrance, and doorbell if needed, to be let in. We meet in a conference room downstairs. The group is free. OBITUARIES
The Rev. Mr. Charles B. Mansfield died on Sunday, September 9, 2018 surrounded by his family following a
brief illness. He is survived by his wife of 39 years Nancy (Gard) Mansfield; his four sons, David Mansfield of East Providence, RI; Eric Mansfield and his wife Kelsey (Dewey) Mansfield of Enfield, CT; Andrew Mansfield of Gardner; and Jonathan Mansfield of Endicott, NY; and his two grandchildren Lydia and Abram.
Chuck grew up in Waltham, graduated from Waltham High School and Gordon College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in philosophy. He then attended Andover Newton Theological School for two years before transferring to Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, graduating with a Master of Divinity degree. He was ordained as a minister with the United Church of Christ.
At the time of his passing, Chuck was serving as Pastor at the Ashburnham Community Church, a position he held since 2009. From 1992 to 2001, he served as pastor of First Congregational Church in Gardner. His previous pastoral experience included serving at churches in Andover, Leominster, Millbury and Lancaster, MA.
Calling Hours are 5:00pm-7:00pm on Friday, September 14, 2018 at the Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon. The memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at 1:00pm at the Ashburnham Community Church, 84 Main Street, Ashburnham, MA. Memorial donations may be made to American Red Cross, 180 Rustcraft Rd #115, Dedham, MA 02026. Please click here for more information.
