This issue of In Partnership has some new, regular features!  Check them out below!

CAUCE Reflects is a monthly reflection from a CAUCE Coordinating Committee Member.  Our members are clergy and lay, Superintendents, Directors, Coordinators and more, of Christian faith formation in our local congregations.  The insights of these CAUCE members offer wisdom, information, humor and many good resources too!

This month's author, Tracy Fouke Bausum

For the Love of Stories is also a new regular feature highlighting a book, resource, or website where wonderful stories can be found and enjoyed and shared!  Stories have the power to shape us, to form faith and give voice and language to experience.  This feature will point you in the direction of some of the most endearing stories we find for folks of all ages.  To read our first review, please link here.

In addition to these 2 new features you'll find information on resources, events, programs and more to feed the spirit and enrich your work.  The ministry of  "making disciples" has never been more exciting!

Prayers from the Basement

On the occasion of the 30th Anniversary of the Association of United Church Educators (AUCE) in 2002, a number of educators and faith formation leaders from across the United Church of Christ created a little volume of prayers and reflections entitled, Prayers from the Basement.  Now in its 46th year, AUCE continues to be a vital leader in supporting the development of and advocacy for faith formation leaders from across the denomination.  Each month this year will feature a musing from Prayers from the Basement in honor of the continued good work of the AUCE organization.  To visit the AUCE website and learn more and to join AUCE link here.

Here is this month's prayer- authored by the AUCE Coordinating Committee 2000

God, grant us the blessing of your grace that our work be accomplished in love and wisdom; that our teaching be mentored by the Teacher who spoke to all times and places; that our faith ever grow with those who are also growing, and even more with those yet to feed the water of new life upon the skills of their earthly existence.  Thank you for the saints who have come before us and the lives of those yet to be dedicated to your way.  In Christ Jesus, Amen.

Safe Conduct Tip of the Month

Check your Nursery or Childcare area for the following:

  • Check your nursery for broken or dangerous toys weekly and discard.
  • Bolt or screw free standing bookcases or shelving to the walls in your nursery, be certain those busy climbers won't hurt themselves while your back is turned.
  • Ensure that you have up to date information and paperwork for each child in the nursery with a visitor friendly sign-in sheet for those joining you for the first time!
