RICUCC Business Manager George Weavill Steps Down

After more than 45 years of faithful service to the Rhode Island Conference in a wide variety of capacities, Rhode Island Conference Business Manager George Weavill has offered his resignation and will complete his service on Thursday, Feb. 8, 2018.

"George has served as Business Manager with love and devotion over the past 22 years," said Interim Conference Minister The Rev. Barbara Libby.

Weavill has worked with four different Conference Ministers:  Rev. Dr. H. Daehler Hayes, Rev. Charles P.  Barnes, Rev. Dr. Beverley Edwards, and Rev. Barbara Libby.   From 1973-1983, he served as Conference Treasurer and was a member of the Conference Board of Directors. He has also served on the Investment Committee for the Conference since 1973.

“I am very grateful for George Weavill’s many years of devotion and dedicated service to the Rhode Island Conference," said George Peters, past president of the Conference Board of Directors and a retired pastor.

The Rev. Robert Nolan, the Conference's new Chief Financial Officer and volunteer Treasurer, will assume Weavill's responsibilities upon his departure, Libby said.
