Vision for New Conference Laid Out

When the Together, As One planning team - a mix of board members and staff from the three southern New England conferences - began work this summer on hashing out a proposal to form a new, unified conference, they knew they needed to start with the "why."

The team members felt there was no point in figuring out governance or structure or bylaws until they could clearly articulate why the Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island conferences might want to join together to form a new conference in the first place.

The team has now developed a Vision, Mission and Purpose statement, with an accompanying Conversation Guide, A hard copy of the statement and guide is being mailed to each church in the three conferences, and is also available on the three websites.

Giving Tuesday Drive to Support Racial Justice Ministries

Together as one, the Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island Conferences are asking people to make contributions in support of Racial Justice Ministries on #GivingTuesday, November 28, 2017.

#GivingTuesday is a global effort of small businesses, corporations, non-profits, and individuals to harness the collective power of individuals, communities, and organizations to celebrate generosity.

The three conferences, which are moving toward joining together to form a unified conference, first engaged in #GivingTuesday together last year, and raised more than $4,500 for racial justice ministries. Conference leaders hope to double that this year.
